After graduation from Baylor Law School, Andy served as a law clerk to the Honorable William M. Steger, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, for a period of three years.

In 2005, Andy had the honor of serving as the Chairman of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas. The Litigation Section is the largest section of the State Bar of Texas and is made up of trial lawyers practicing in all areas of litigation in Texas courts.

In 2007, "The Texas Lawyer" named Andy one of the only 4 'Top Notch' personal injury lawyers in the state of Texas.

Andy has also served as President of the Bar Association of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in 2001-2002 and as President of the East Texas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2002-2003. Andy was also elected to serve as President of the T.J. Ward American Inn of Court for 2012-13. Andy has served on the Local Rules Committee for the Eastern District of Texas as well as numerous other court appointed committees and task forces dealing with federal practice and the administration of justice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
